After weeks of anticipation the Clog Dog flex shaft finally arrived! We are so excited to be a part of this revolutionary technology in the drain cleaning field. Flex shaft technology has been used for a while in the niche of pipe patching and pipe lining but recently has been put to use in drain cleaning. Picote and Renssi are the two major players in the field -- up until the arrival of Clog Dog. Clog Dog was developed by people in the field who wanted a flex shaft designed specifically for drain cleaners. One of the major differences is the cross wound flex shaft that allows the shaft to be spun in reverse. What are some of the benefits of flex shaft technology over conventional drain cleaning methods? 1. Extremely light weight which makes it safer for the operator. 2. Attacks clogs based on speed (RPM) and not torque which also makes it safer for the operator. No concern of rods twisting on fingers. 3. Cleans the entire diameter of the pipe with the expanding chain knockers. It's often difficult to get a thorough cleaning of the grease-filled pipe or completely remove all the roots from the top of a pipe. Expanding cutters are good for that purpose but there isn't always access to get them into the pipe. We'll have some more videos as we use the flex shaft but check out the arrival of the Clog Dog in the video below: |
